History of Yountville, CA
The town of Yountville has become a world-class wine destination in Napa Valley Wine Country. It may be small, but Yountville is bursting at the seams with renowned Chefs and their Michelin star rated restaurants, four-star resorts and hotels, arts sprouting and blossoming throughout, and of course wineries producing excellent wines!
Yountville received its’ name from Napa Valley pioneer and wine settler George Calvert Yount who planted the first vineyard in this area in 1836. Due to the area’s unique soil characteristics and distinct climate that allows for a longer growing season, Yountville received appellation status in 1999.
